Located in historic Carrollton, Kentucky, Carroll Country Emergency Management consists of dedicated volunteer and paid professionals providing a host of emergency services to Carroll County and the surrounding community.
Carroll County Emergency Management is responsible for mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery of any man made or natural emergencies and disasters in Carroll County and our five incorporated cities. Carroll County is the most southern county in Northern Kentucky and one of fifteen counties in Kentucky Emergency Management's Region 6. Carroll County Emergency Management represents the State of Kentucky, Carroll County and the cities of Carrollton, Ghent, Prestonville, Sanders and Worthville.
Carroll County Emergency Management is also responsible for a variety of other issues that are important to the residents and visitors of Carroll County such as 911 Addressing and Shelter-In-Place projects at all public and private schools, hospital, nursing home and assisted living facilities in Carroll County. We are also responsible for the testing, operations and maintenance of the Carroll County Regional Notification System (telephone notification system) and our twenty Community Outdoor Warning Systems (COWS).
Carroll County Emergency Management is responsible for the day to day operations of the Carroll County Emergency Operations Center (Carroll County EOC). Other agencies currently housed and operated out of this facility would include: Carroll County Search And Rescue, Carroll County Emergency Medical Services, Carroll County Rescue Squad, Carroll County Water Rescue, Commonwealth Canine Search And Recovery, Carroll County Flood Plane and Solid Waste Manager. All agencies at the Carroll County EOC respond to present emergencies while training and planning for future emergencies. Although Law Enforcement and fire services do not fall under the supervision or responsibilities of Carroll County Emergency Management we coordinate and work very closely with those agencies.
At Carroll County Emergency Management we constantly evaluate the needs of our Emergency Services and our ability to respond to the needs of our residents and visitors of Carroll County. Part of this process is to improve and expand our capabilities in any areas needed. One of the ways to achieve our goals is to obtain funding through a variety of grant funds which ultimately decreases the financial burden on the tax payers of Carroll County. A few of the sources for grant funds would include but not be limited to Department of Homeland Security, Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services, Office of the 9-1-1 Coordinator, Kentucky Emergency Management and Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Carroll County Emergency Management currently sits on a number of boards, those boards would include but not be limited to: 911 Board of Directors, Dow Corning - PMC Organometallix Community Advisory Panel, Northern Kentucky Regional HazMat/WMD Team Board of Directors, Incident Management Task Force, Carroll County Emergency Planning Committee-Treasurer, Carroll County Disaster and Emergency Services-Chairperson.
In Carroll County we plan, train and exercise for the worse credible events that could happen in our County, then we pray they never do.
