Welcome to the Carroll County Fiscal Court's Website |
Carroll County is a prime location, where the Ohio River and Kentucky River meet. Carroll County is ideally located off Interstate 71 between Louisville and Cincinnati. This is an advantage for those who prefer to live in a rural area and still be close enough to commute to the bigger cities.
Carroll County is rich in history, having been established in 1832 and named for Charles Carroll of Maryland, the last surviving signer of the Declaration of Independence. The county seat, Carrollton, is named after his estate.
Recreational activities in the area are varied. General Butler State Resort Park encompasses 791 acres to include a 30-acre lake, golf course, campground, hiking trails and picnic areas. The Robert Westrick Memorial Park offers tennis courts, fitness trail, basketball, swimming pool, baseball fields and more. Carrollton is also the home of the Kentucky Veterans Memorial. Boating on the Ohio and Kentucky Rivers is accessible from the ramp at Carrollton's Point Park.
Carroll County has several educational opportunities to offer, starting with the public school system for Pre-school grades through 12th grade. The Christian Academy of Carrollton is an option, as they offer Christ centered education for Pre-school through 12th grade as well. Carroll County is fortunate to have Jefferson Community College, whether your goal is to become trained to begin a career or to transfer and continue studies at a four-year university.
Industry plays a big part in our community. Companies such as Dow Chemical, PMC Organometallix, North American Stainless, Kentucky Utilities, CertainTeed, DRC Industries and The Scotts Company provide job opportunities as well as contributing to civic events.
The most special asset to Carroll County would be our people. Our friendly community has strong family values and work ethics that are second to none. Whether you're coming to Carroll County for a visit or to make it your home, feel free to stop by my office and say "Hello".
